AFTERGLOW AT EDGARINO S. ESPINA BOULEVARD
#TAMBAYSABOULEVARD
Named after former Maasin City Mayor Edgarino S. Espina,
Maasinhon friends and families spend time until the sunset’s afterglow. People hang out and relax on the benches while waiting for sundown.
Others are on the seashores near the ocean waters.
JALLECA HILLS’ LADY OF ASSUMPTION
Rise slowly but surely with baby steps towards the mom of moms and the mom of Maasin, Our Lady of Assumption. As the Glorious Mysteries of the Holy Rosary are prayed every Wednesday and Sunday, she is based upon the fourth (4th) Glorious Mystery which is the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven.
She is the mother that is visible day and night (as she is illuminated after sundown) and ship passengers can even see her as they approach Maasin City pier or “pantalan”.
Guinsuhotan Falls and Cave
MONTE CUEVA (Mountain Cave)
A 30-foot Marian icon perches from a highland over the Via Crucis and Resurrection. A chapel within the cave is the coup-de-grace to the natural wonder, situated 2 kilometers from the city proper. The chapel’s highlight is the three (3) red drops of Jesus Christ’s Most Precious Blood which is exactly under the statue of Pietà (this depicts the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother Mary after the Crucifixion).
