for this chance to be able to lead the city and for the strength given to me and my team all throughout the campaign. I will be forever grateful to the people who were there for me and the entire slate since the inception of the election period. To my family, thank you for the all-out support. To my wife, FL Daisy Jane Mercado, thank you for being there for me all the way in every campaign. Thank you for putting up with me despite my very busy schedule. To my kids, Lourdes Nicole and Lucas Nacional, thank you for understanding your dad. To my Team Nikko, my campaign staff and advisers, supporters from all the 70 barangays of our city and most of all, to all those who supported our campaign, the people of Maasin City, I am humbled by the faith you have placed in us.

Today, we welcome new set of public officials. Allow me then to take this opportunity to congratulate all of those who have taken their oath as new public servants and those who are about to return to their offices as elected officials given with a new mandate by the people of Maasin City. We all know that campaigns and elections are hard-fought and that is why the victors in the last election are well-deserved. So, Congratulations to all of us!

As we embark on a new term of office, expect that the best is yet to come. We will continue with the good practices we have started. The City Government of Maasin under this administration will continue to be transparent, inclusive, participatory, and accountable.
